With costs rising, you may think that things like staging may be going out of style. However, that is not the case even in a seller’s market. If someone wants to sell their house quickly and for the best possible price, staging is still one of the best ways to make it happen. After all, there’s only one chance to make a good first impression.

  1. People Are More Likely to Visit a Staged Property

Almost all—99%—of millennials interested in buying a home begin their search online (according to NAR’s data). 38% of buyer’s agents say that staging made buyers more likely to go for a showing at a home they saw listed online as opposed to a listing without staging. Even in a hot market, staging a photo-ready property can directly influence a buyer’s decision to see the home in person and submit an offer. Ultimately, attracting more buyers creates more opportunities for better offers and competition on the sale of the property.

  1. Staging Helps a Potential Buyer Feel an Emotional Connection

If a house is empty or filled with someone else’s items it can be difficult for a prospective buyer to see themselves there. So logically it makes sense that investing in staging can make a buyer more likely to go from a showing to actually making an offer. Staging creates the opportunity for the property to be more broadly appealing with neutral furniture and decor. Creating that connection makes all the difference!

  1. Staging Can Increase Home Value

If you’re not yet convinced that staging a property is necessary, these stats might be a tipping point.

-a quarter of buyers’ agents told the NAR that staging increased the offering price by 1% to 5% compared to homes that weren’t staged

-Among sellers’ agents, 22% say the same and 17% say it actually increased the offering price by 6% to 10%.

-0% of sellers’ agents and only 1% of buyers’ agents said that staging had a negative impact on offering price.

Summary

With nothing to lose and a lot to possibly gain, it stands to reason that staging is worth the effort and investment for sellers. This can even be more true for homes with unique or highly specific décor.
